4 veteran passers the Buffalo Bills can still sign in 2024

The Buffalo Bills’ top three defenders are obvious with Von Miller, Gregory Rousseau, and AJ Epenesa. After that, it’s anyone’s guess. Buffalo added a few names to the roster this offseason, like Casey Toohill and DaWuane Smoot, as well as returning players Kameron Cline and Kingsley Jonathan. Via the draft, they added Javon Solomon, who fans are excited to see on the field.

This depth chart has some potential, but Buffalo could add at least one more to the mix. The problem is that the remaining list of free agents isn’t particularly long, made up of either relatively obscure individuals or veteran players who are past their peak performance years. Jerry Hughes is one of those veterans, whose best days are behind him, and while for sentimental reasons I wouldn’t mind seeing him back in Buffalo, I haven’t included him on this list.

Last season, the Bills’ front four was solid and one of the best teams in the league in terms of total sacks, but seemed to fade in the playoffs when they were needed. Part of this could be due to injuries, but it’s anyone’s guess what happened. Leonard Floyd was a great free agent last year, but he didn’t record a sack in the final five games of the year, including the playoffs. Von Miller has struggled to find his groove and make an impact once back on the field and we don’t know what we’ll get from him in 2024. It makes sense that the Bills, like the receivers, throw so many darts as possible. possible, and I hope a few of them hit the target.
