LUCENA CITY – The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) suspended sea operations for all vessels in the provinces of Quezon, Marinduque and Romblon on Saturday, May 25 due to rough seas caused by Tropical Depression Aghon.

In its 8 a.m. bulletin on Saturday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) hoisted Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) Number 1 along the path of Aghon, which covered Quezon, the eastern part of Marinduque (cities of Sta. Cruz and Torrijos) and the eastern part of Romblon (cities of Cajidiocan, Magdiwang, San Fernando and Romblon).

“The waves in the coastal waters could gradually develop and become larger and higher,” Pagasa warned.

The PCG Southern Tagalog District in its warning urged all seagoing vessels in the provinces to “take precautionary measures and pay special attention to the movement of the typhoon if they are believed to be affected by the said weather disturbance.”

The PCG-DST said the suspension would be lifted once weather and sea conditions improved.
