Injured DC police officer filmed part of the shooting

A Washington, D.C. police captain who was injured Monday when a gunman opened fire on his personal vehicle in Northwest Washington managed to record part of the incident on his phone, but dropped the recording when the shots rang out, according to a police affidavit filed in Washington, D.C., Supreme Court.

The captain, an 18-year veteran who was on his way to work at the Fourth Precinct station, was injured in the head by broken glass, the affidavit said. Police said in the affidavit that the captain recorded on video a blue Honda Accord driving erratically and its Ohio license plate.
