Police: Man arrested for shooting that injured father and daughter

WASHINGTON (DC News now) — A man wanted by the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) for his involvement in a shooting in northeast DC was arrested Wednesday.

Police said 29-year-old Alante Partlow of Northeast DC was found nearly a month after a shooting in Greensboro, North Carolina left behind an injured father and his 5-year-old daughter.

The shooting occurred on April 23 around 11:30 p.m. in the 4800 block of North Capitol Street NE. Officers found a man and a five-year-old girl who had been shot.

They were taken to hospitals for treatment of their injuries, which were not considered life-threatening.

Partlow was identified as a suspect shortly after the shooting and a warrant was issued for his arrest. He is accused of aggravated assault with a weapon. Police said he and the victims knew each other.

The MPD said he will be extradited back to the District from North Carolina.
