MACOMB COUNTY, MI – A Michigan man has been charged with multiple felonies for his role in a road rage incident in Macomb County.

Ryan Borella, 33, of Rochester Hills, was charged in Shelby Township with carrying a dangerous weapon with unlawful intent and assault with a dangerous weapon.

Borella is accused of threatening two people with a knife during a traffic altercation at North Avenue and 26 Mile Road on May 18.

According to the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office, a 63-year-old Roseville man was driving an SUV on North Avenue when Borella, unable to merge, drove erratically and passed several vehicles in the southbound lanes while traveling northbound.

Borella overtook the SUV before stopping at a red light on 24 Mile Road. He then allegedly got out of his truck and confronted the SUV driver and his 38-year-old passenger with a knife.

The suspect was identified and arrested without incident and the knife was recovered from his vehicle, officials said. Bail was set at $20,000.
