Fatal UTV accident in Clinton County leaves 1 dead

CLINTON COUNTY, Iowa – One person is dead after a UTV accident Saturday morning in Clinton County, officials say.

On Saturday, May 18, at approximately 11:45 a.m., deputies with the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 1200 block of 320th Avenue for a single vehicle accident involving a UTV. The area is approximately two miles north of Charlotte, Iowa.

According to the sheriff’s office, the driver of the UTV was killed in the accident. They were the only occupants of the vehicle. Officials have not released the victim’s name pending proper notification of family.

The accident remains under investigation by the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office. Other agencies that responded to the scene include the Charlotte Fire Department, Goose Lake Fire Department, Delmar Fire Department, Maquoketa Ambulance and the Clinton County Medical Examiner’s Office.
