One dead in officer-involved shooting in KCK

One person is dead and another is in custody following an officer-involved shooting in Kansas City, Kansas. It happened just after 11 p.m. on Friday. A Kansas City, Kansas, police officer found a stolen vehicle stopped in the middle of 7th Street near I-35. The officer approached the vehicle to inspect it and saw three people get out and run away. The officer ran after them and one of the suspects began shooting. The officer fired back, hitting and killing one of the suspects. The officer also arrested another suspect. The third suspect escaped and could not be found. Two handguns were found at the scene. Kansas Bureau of Investigation agents are investigating. We will update this story as we learn more.
