Coroner identifies cyclist killed in accident

The name of a South Carolina cyclist killed over the weekend was released Monday by the Greenville County Coroner’s Office. Deputy Coroner Kristy Strange said George Christian Frank, 56, of Simpsonville, died just before 8 p.m. Sunday after being struck by a minivan. Strange said the accident occurred on Woodruff Road near Angie Lane in Simpsonville. The minivan was traveling west on Woodruff Road when it struck Frank as he was riding his bicycle east on the west side of Woodruff Road, according to Master Trooper Brandon Bolt of the South Carolina Highway Patrol. Bolt said the driver of the minivan was not been injured.

Bolt said the driver of the minivan was not injured.
