Tony Hadley of Spandau Ballet suffers from serious stage accident

Singer Tony Hadley has admitted that he is still in pain after an on-stage accident during a tour in Italy.

The Spandau Ballet star spoke about an upcoming operation he needs while appearing on Channel 4 Sunday Brunch (February 11).

Speaking to presenters Tim Lovejoy and Simon Rimmer, the musician recalled the accident and said: “I was in southern Italy and we were about to do a show in front of about 15,000 people.

“They let a lot of water on the tiled floor, I slipped on the tiled floor. My leg burst at about 10 past 12, my kneecap broke, my tendons tore off…”

The star later admitted that the recovery did not go as well as he would have liked.
