Gang shooting claims man’s life near LA subway station

Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting near a subway station in the Leimert Park neighborhood of Los Angeles.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers were called to 4330 Crenshaw Boulevard around 12:18 a.m. Saturday on a call of a shooting.


The shooting occurred near the Leimert Park subway station. A subway spokesperson confirmed to KTLA that the shooting occurred near the K-Line station, but not on its property.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim was identified as a 36-year-old black man, the LAPD said.

Officials confirmed that the shooting was related to gang violence. A description of the suspect(s) was not immediately available.
