Sex offender among most wanted offenders in Texoma

WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL) – A Wichita Falls man is now on Texoma’s most wanted list, less than six months after he was sentenced to probation for sexually assaulting an intoxicated teenager at a 2022 New Year’s Eve party.

Nathan Alexander Jones, 29, is wanted for violating his probation for sexual abuse of a child. He was among five people listed on the Wichita Falls Area Crime Stoppers’ weekly Texoma’s Most Wanted list on Friday, July 26, 2024.

Jones was sentenced to ten years probation on March 1, 2024, after pleading guilty to sexual abuse of a child in 78th District Court.

On April 4, 2024, the Wichita County District Attorney’s Office filed a motion for a finding of guilt, accusing Jones of multiple probation violations.

According to the motion, on March 29, 2024, Jones was observed by a Wichita County bail enforcement officer drinking alcohol at a bar, both of which constituted a violation of the terms of his probation.

Jones is also charged with failing to complete his community service, failing to register as a sex offender in Corsicana within seven days, failing to participate in the computer restriction and monitoring program, and using a cell phone while prohibited from doing so.

According to police, officers with the Wichita Falls Police Department responded to a call at United Regional on New Year’s Eve 2022 for a report of a sexual assault.

The victim’s mother told officers her daughter went to a party with friends, got drunk and was raped by Jones. The victim said Jones brought alcohol to the party and drugs were also used.

The victim also told police she told Jones she was 15 before she became drunk. She said Jones had sex with her before she passed out, but when she came to, Jones told her he didn’t know she was 15 and that he had a wife and children.

Witnesses at the party confirmed the victim’s account. Jones initially agreed to be interviewed by police, but never showed up for the interview and stopped cooperating with law enforcement.

Authorities obtained a search warrant to collect Jones’ DNA, and lab results indicated with reasonable suspicion that the DNA found on the victim was Jones’.

Community members with information on the whereabouts of Jones or any of the other known fugitives are asked to submit their tips anonymously to Crime Stoppers online or by calling (940) 322-9888.

Crime Stoppers also urged community members to never attempt to arrest a suspect themselves, but instead to submit a tip that could lead to a cash reward with the approval of the Crime Stoppers Board of Directors.
