A fake rideshare driver is wanted for sexually assaulting a woman, according to Clovis police

CLOVIS, Calif. (KFSN) — Authorities are searching for a man who they say sexually assaulted a woman he picked up in Old Town Clovis last month while posing as a rideshare driver.

According to Clovis police, 27-year-old Bikramjit Singh is wanted in connection with an April 21 kidnapping and sexual assault.

Officials say Singh falsely represented himself as an Uber driver to people as they left a bar.

After picking up the victim, Singh took her to a location in Fresno where he committed the sexual assault, according to police.

Police say Uber confirmed that the victim did not request a ride that night and that the SUV Singh was driving was not registered with the company.

According to investigators, Singh had used his roommate’s vehicle and removed the license plates.

Officials say Singh, a truck driver who works throughout the United States, told the victim that he had committed similar crimes in the past.

Clovis police say they have no further evidence of additional victims.

Action News reached out to Uber about the incident but has not yet heard back.

Anyone with information about Singh’s whereabouts is asked to contact Clovis police.
