Man dead after shooting in Richmond, police investigate murder

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) – Richmond police are investigating a homicide after officers found a man dead in the street with a gunshot wound on Sunday.

According to the department, on Sunday, July 21, at approximately 5:07 p.m., officers were called to the 1700 block of North 28th Street after a person was reported shot. They found a man lying on the ground with a gunshot wound, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The coroner has yet to determine the cause and manner of death.
