Baltimore man arrested in connection with killing of 12-year-old girl – Baltimore Sun

The suspect wanted in connection with the shooting death of 12-year-old Breaunna Cormley on Friday was arrested on Sunday, Baltimore police said.

The suspected shooter, 28-year-old Omar Passmore of Baltimore, was arrested by Baltimore County officials Sunday morning in connection with the fatal shooting that occurred around 8 p.m. Friday in the 500 block of North Kenwood Avenue.

Passmore is charged with first-degree murder and will be taken to Baltimore’s central holding facility, Baltimore police said Sunday.

During a news conference with Mayor Brandon Scott on Friday evening, Police Chief Richard Worley said officers found Cormley in a home with a gunshot wound. He said CPR was performed, but Cormley was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the shooting was intentional. As of Sunday afternoon, police have not released the motive for the shooting or Passmore’s relationship to Cormley and her family.

Neighbors in East Baltimore’s McElderry Park neighborhood described Cormley as a quiet place with few close neighborhood friends.

In her free time, she posted TikToks in which she rated characters from the animated series “Hazbin Hotel,” played games, and rated school subjects—her favorite subject was English, her least favorite was math.

Passmore, who neighbors say was once an on-off boyfriend of the child’s mother, was identified by police as a suspect Saturday. Neighbors say they observed Passmore inside the house before walking down the block and returning a few more times.
