Incident in Meeker County | News

(Darwin-Dassel, MN) The Meeker County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an incident that occurred between 6 and 7 a.m. Friday. The incident occurred in the 68800 block of 233rd Street near Darwin-Dassel County Park. An 18-year-old woman was jogging when she was approached by a man described as being in his 20s, thin, approximately 6’1″ tall, blonde hair, gray sweatpants, and a gray sweatshirt. He was driving an older gray truck. The victim was unable to make out the truck’s license plate. The victim described the incident as the man confronting her, causing her to run into the woods. The suspect ran after her. The victim said a Good Samaritan, who was also jogging, came by during the incident and scared the suspect away. The Good Samaritan was described as a man in his 50s, white hair, blue shorts, blue shirt, and glasses. This is an active and ongoing investigation and investigators would like to speak with the Good Samaritan. The Sheriff’s Office is also looking for video footage from surveillance cameras in the area.
