Family of four from Kerala killed in fire accident in Kuwait

Pathanamthitta: Four members of a family from Pathanamthitta died in a fire at their residence in Kuwait.

The incident occurred on Friday evening in Abbassia, Kuwait.

The victims were identified as Mathew Muzhakkal, his wife Lini Abraham and their children Isaac and Erin.

The family left for Kuwait after their vacation on Thursday evening.

“Mathew has been working there for the last 15 years. His wife is a nurse. The children study there. They left Nedumbassery on Thursday evening after their vacation,” a relative told the media on Saturday.

The victims’ families have not yet received any official confirmation of the arrival of the bodies in their hometown.

Mathew leaves behind his mother and three siblings.

According to initial findings, the fire was caused by a short circuit in the air conditioning system in the room.
