Suspect charged in fatal stabbing of Houston woman | Texas

Detectives L. Patterson and N. Henderson of the HPD Homicide Division said HPD patrol officers responded to a report of a deceased person at the address and found Francis unconscious and covered with several blankets. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene.

Investigators learned that a witness went to the scene to check on Francis and found her unconscious. Further investigation determined that she had been stabbed. Investigators identified Sample as the suspect in the case. He was arrested Wednesday for an unrelated incident and confessed to investigators his role in Francis’ death. Sample was later charged and booked into the Harris County Jail.
