Pedestrian died on a street corner in Port Richman in a crash involving a driver from Buck County

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — A driver wanted in Bucks County has been arrested following a tragic accident in the Port Richmond neighborhood of Philadelphia.

The victim was standing behind a parked van at the corner of Frankford Avenue and Allegheny Avenue around 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday when he was struck.

The accident happened just two blocks from his home.

According to police, surveillance video shows that the wanted man’s car was traveling east on Allegheny Avenue when the vehicle jumped the curb, hit a concrete barrier, then a metal barrier, and finally struck a 38-year-old man.

According to police, the victim was thrown about nine meters into the intersection.

The pedestrian died at the scene of the accident.

According to police, the driver is a 41-year-old man. His identity has not yet been released.

According to police, he and his dog were not injured.

Police have not disclosed why a search warrant was issued for the driver in Bucks County.
