Whitney Houston Gala to Celebrate Singer’s Birthday and Historic Performances in South Africa

The life and career of Whitney Houston continues to be celebrated in his absence. According to PeopleThe Whitney E. Houston Legacy Foundation and Primary Wave will celebrate her 61st birthday at their third annual Whitney E. Houston Legacy Foundation Gala, which will take place on her birthday, August 9. The event will also commemorate the 30th anniversary of Whitney’s three historic performances in South Africa following Nelson MandelaThe presidential victory of.

Whitney performed at King Park Stadium in Durban on 8 November 1994, Ellis Park Stadium in Johannesburg on 12 November 1994, and Green Point Stadium in Cape Town on 19 November 1994, becoming the first major musician to perform in the country after apartheid. A portion of the proceeds went to local children’s charities in South Africa.

The Whitney E. Houston Legacy Foundation Gala, hosted by Whitney’s sister-in-law Pat Houston And Kevin Frazier of Entertainment Tonightwill perform at the St. Regis Hotel in Atlanta.
