The public is asked to help in the search for missing persons

Charlotte, NC – (Sunday, July 14, 2024) – Detectives from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Missing Persons Unit are asking the public for help in locating 82-year-old Elijah McCarthy.

Mr. McCarthy was last seen on July 14, 2024 at approximately 2:00 p.m. at Nordstrom Rack located at 9567 South Boulevard in Charlotte. Mr. McCarthy was last seen wearing a gray t-shirt and tan pants. Mr. McCarthy was last seen driving his white 2021 Nissan Sentra with Connecticut license plate 9AKVFO.

Mr. McCarthy was diagnosed with early dementia and a missing person and endangered person report was issued.

Anyone with information regarding Mr. McCarthy’s whereabouts is asked to call 9-1-1 immediately.
