A 38-year-old man was arrested in connection with an ongoing investigation into sexual abuse of a child, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said. Officers located and arrested Michael Hackenberg on Wednesday on sexual abuse of a child charges. Authorities said additional firearm possession charges are expected. As part of the investigation, the Sheriff’s Office obtained a search warrant for Hackenberg’s home. Inside the home, officers found and seized seven firearms and ammunition, authorities said. Hackenberg is a convicted felon and is not allowed to possess these items, the Sheriff’s Office said. DOUGLAS COUNTY, Nebraska —

A 38-year-old man was arrested in connection with the ongoing investigation into sexual abuse of a child, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said.

Officials located and arrested Michael Hackenberg on Wednesday for sexual abuse of a child. Authorities said additional firearms-related charges are expected.

The sheriff’s office said it obtained a search warrant for Hackenberg’s home as part of the investigation.

Inside, officers found and seized seven guns and ammunition, authorities said. Hackenberg is a convicted felon and is prohibited from possessing these items, according to the sheriff’s office.
