Incident at Greenville High School athletic facility leads to arrest and dismissal | Texas

GREENVILLE, Texas — An altercation between two adults at Greenville High School has resulted in the arrest and firing of an assistant coach, according to a press release from the Greenville Independent School District.

The incident, which occurred at the high school athletic facility, involved an individual who was not an employee of the school district. That individual was arrested and faces criminal charges. The other individual involved, an assistant coach, is no longer employed by the school district.

“The district does not tolerate adult-to-adult issues that could pose a safety risk to other staff or students,” said Dr. Joe Lopez, Superintendent of Greenville ISD. The district encourages all citizens to report safety issues to administration so they can be resolved in a timely manner.

In light of recent events, Greenville ISD emphasized its commitment to maintaining a safe environment for students and staff.
