“We’ve made solid progress and surpassed the number of restorations our customers completed after Hurricane Ike, but we still have much important work to do, particularly in the hardest-hit areas where the work will be more complex and time-consuming,” said Lynnae Wilson, senior vice president of Electric Business. “We know many customers are counting on us to complete our work as safely and quickly as possible, and that will continue to be our top priority.”

CenterPoint said 2.26 million customers were affected by Beryl and as of 8 p.m. Tuesday, they had restored power to more than 850,000 of them.

The power company also announced that it has released a new map showing progress in restoration efforts.

  • Blue areas indicate where crews have been assigned to restore power
  • Green areas are where CenterPoint indicates that fuse repairs are complete, but isolated outages in individual homes may still persist.
