Woman arrested for fatal hit-and-run in East Charlotte, court documents say – WSOC TV

CHARLOTTE – A woman has been arrested in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred in east Charlotte earlier this year.

On May 19, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police responded to East WT Harris Boulevard where they found an unconscious person lying in the street.

The victim, 57-year-old Wade Terrill Burch, died at the scene.

An initial investigation revealed that Burch was attempting to cross WT Harris Boulevard when he was struck by a silver or gray sedan.

According to police, he was not on a zebra crossing at the time of the accident.

On July 9, it was announced that 27-year-old Ana Consuelos had been arrested in this case.

According to court documents, Consuelos hit Burch but did not stop and did not remain at the scene of the accident until police arrived.

Consuelos was charged with hit-and-run causing serious injury or death. Her bail was set at $150,000.
