Spanish court closes “terrorism investigation” against Catalan separatist leader

Spain’s Supreme Court on Tuesday closed a “terrorism” investigation against Catalan separatist leader Carles Puigdemont, who has lived in exile abroad since the failed secession attempt in 2017.

Puigdemont, who is seeking to benefit from a controversial amnesty law, still faces charges of embezzlement and an investigation into disobedience in connection with his attempted secession.
