VISALIA, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A man who the Tulare County District Attorney’s Office says sexually abused a 5-year-old girl between July and September 2020 was sentenced this week in Tulare County Superior Court.

According to prosecutors, 28-year-old Elijah Harris was sentenced to life in prison on Tuesday for child molestation. The sentencing follows his March 15 plea for a no-contest verdict on one count of oral copulation with a child 10 years old or younger and one count of sexual penetration with a child 10 years old years or younger.

The DA’s office reports that the crimes were committed between July and September 2020 in Visalia against a girl who was five years old at the time of the attacks. After conviction, Harris must register as a sex offender for life and serve 30 years before being considered for parole.
