Two people died in a fire accident in southern Fort Wayne.

FORT WAYNE, Indiana (WANE) – Two people were killed and two others were hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after an accident Saturday morning in south Fort Wayne.

According to FWPD spokesman Adam Shotzman, the crash involved two vehicles, one of which caught fire. It occurred at the intersection of US 27 and S. Anthony Blvd. Shortly after 4 a.m., US 27 was closed in both directions at that intersection.

According to police, speed and alcohol may have played a role in the accident.
