Jefferson City police investigate early morning shooting

JEFFERSON CITY, Missouri (KMIZ)

Jefferson City police are investigating after a shooting occurred early Friday morning.

According to a Jefferson City Police press release, officers were called to the 200 block of North Taylor Street at 3:56 a.m. for a verbal disturbance.

According to the police report, the caller reported seeing a man fire a gun twice.

According to the press release, officers found evidence of a shooting. No information was released about what type of evidence was found or how much of it was found.

Police said that while the scene was being investigated, one person who was shot was taken to a local hospital.

Jefferson City police said in their press release that the victim did not cooperate and did not give any information to police officers who rushed to the hospital.

No information was given about the suspect. It is unclear if anyone was taken into custody.
