Arrest of troubled real estate mogul Patrick Carroll in LA

Gun-obsessed real estate mogul Patrick Carroll is in trouble again.

Carroll, a Miami native, was arrested Monday night on drunken driving and weapons charges after he got out of his car and tried to flee from police in Los Angeles.

Local news helicopters captured the dramatic scene. The report said: “The suspect got out of the car and ran down the embankment, but officers were able to find him fairly quickly. He was charged with drunk driving, but then they reportedly recovered some weapons.”

A representative for Carroll did not respond to a request for comment.

The wealthy property developer, who has reportedly signed a deal to sell his company valued at around $80 million, previously made headlines on Page Six for partying at celebrity-studded events alongside the likes of Leo DiCaprio, Jamie Foxx and Mayor Eric Adams, but has become embroiled in a scandal.

In March, Miami police raided his mansion after reports of gunshots in his home.

There was also a video showing Carroll firing what he said were blanks from a boat.

He was arrested by police under the Baker Act, a Florida state law that allows authorities to commit people for psychiatric evaluations when family or friends are concerned about their well-being or the safety of others.

A judge signed a “risk protection order” and Carroll was forced to surrender his weapons.

He was also banned from several of Miami’s hottest restaurants, including the trendy Carbone. At another restaurant, he spat at the host when the host asked him to stop flirting with a woman who was out with someone else.

In August 2022, he got into a fight with someone at an after-party for the star-studded Unicef gala in Capri, Italy.

Carroll donated $1.5 million to the charity during the event, but later retracted the donation, calling the organization “fraudulent” and claiming the money “technically did not go to Unicef, but to the ‘members committee’ (of the Capri event).

In February, he spent a fortune at Tom Ford to secure an invitation to the luxury brand’s Milan fashion show, but tried to return the clothes after the event.

Carroll had previously stated that this was not true and commented eloquently on the incident: “F–k you, Page Six!”
