An 18-year-old woman who was a student-athlete at Robert Morris University was killed in a crash in Washington County Sunday morning. The crash occurred just after 3 a.m. on Interstate 70 near the West Virginia border. The Washington County coroner said Kaylee Ogea, of Shawboro, North Carolina, lost control of her vehicle, which then rolled over. She was taken to UPMC Washington Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries. According to RMU, she was a rising sophomore and a member of the rowing team. In a statement, university President Michelle Patrick said, “Kaylee’s dedication, leadership and spirit were evident in everything she did. Kaylee’s loss will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her.” The school said Ogea was also an ROTC cadet, part of the Women’s Leadership and Mentorship Program and a member of the Division II women’s ice hockey team.
