LifeFlight flies woman out of accident with only one vehicle

Toowoomba-based LifeFlight Surat Gas Aeromedical Service (SGAS) helicopter crew airlifted a woman to hospital this afternoon after the car she was driving left the road.

The rescue helicopter was sent to the Darling Downs region at around 12:30 p.m.

The pilot and co-pilot landed the helicopter on the road near the accident site.

LifeFlight’s medical team worked with paramedics from the local Queensland Service (QAS) to treat the woman for suspected spinal injuries.

The patient, around 30 years old, was flown by helicopter to Princess Alexandra Hospital for further treatment.

On behalf of Queensland Health, the LifeFlight SGAS helicopter and crew carried out this operation as part of the SGAS partners’ commitment to provide aeronautical medical care to the community.
