Justin Timberlake arrested for drunk driving in Sag Harbor, New York

Justin Timberlake was arrested early Tuesday in Sag Harbor, New York, and charged with drunken driving, authorities said.

Timberlake, 43, was driving a 2025 BMW when an officer observed him run a stop sign and then twice disregard his lane, Sag Harbor police said in a complaint released Tuesday.

The officer initiated a traffic stop and found that Timberlake was driving “intoxicated,” police said.

In the complaint, an officer said Timberlake’s “eyes were bloodshot and glassy, his breath smelled strongly of alcohol, he was unable to divide his attention, he spoke slowly, he was unsteady on his feet, and he performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests.”

The “SexyBack” singer told officers, “I drank a martini and followed my friends home,” Sag Harbor police said.

He was arrested and held overnight.

A spokesman for the Sag Harbor court and a spokesman for the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office confirmed to NBC News that Timberlake was arraigned on at least one count of drunken driving on Tuesday morning.

After the charges were filed, Timberlake was “released on his own bail,” according to police.

Timberlake pleaded not guilty and was ordered to appear in court on July 26, officials said.
