Murder investigation: 53-year-old man from Augusta shot dead

AUGUSTA (WJBF) – The Richmond County Coroner’s Office is investigating a firearm death that occurred Friday, June 14.

The incident occurred in the 2800 block of Waterside Drive within the Butler Creek Mobile Home Community.

The victim, 53-year-old Edward Goins of Augusta, was shot at least once and taken to Wellstar/MCG.

Goins was pronounced dead at 1:08 p.m. Saturday

No information on suspects has been released.

This is an ongoing investigation.
