Montpelier police seek suspect in early morning downtown shooting

Montpelier police are searching for the person who shot at a home on Barre Street early Saturday morning. According to their department, officers received a report of multiple gunshots in the area of ​​Barre Street and Monsignor Crosby Avenue. Officers were reportedly already nearby and on the scene within minutes. When officers arrived, they found shell casings and a home that had been struck by bullets. Montpelier police said no one reported being hit by a gunshot and no evidence was found that anyone was injured. Throughout Saturday, police reported a heavy police presence on Barre Street as officers searched the scene for witnesses, evidence and camera footage. Vermont Fish & Wildlife K-9 teams and Barre Town Police assisted in the search.
