CBI investigates after two adults and two children found dead

LA JUNTA – The Colorado Bureau of Investigation is investigating a suspected murder-suicide in La Junta.

The agency says officers from the La Junta Police Department were called to a home on Smithland Avenue around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday.

A home in La Junta where an apparent murder-suicide occurred, according to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation. Three people were found dead and another died later at a Denver-area hospital, according to the CBI.

When officers arrived, they found three people dead – two adults and a child.

Another child was found with injuries and taken to a Denver-area hospital, where he later died. Authorities have not yet released the ages or identities of the individuals.

The CBI does not believe that this was a random incident and that all those involved knew each other.
