Teenager killed in double shooting in West Philadelphia – NBC10 Philadelphia

Philadelphia police are investigating after a 16-year-old boy was killed in a shooting in West Philadelphia on Monday morning.

According to police, the incident occurred at about 11:06 a.m. in an apartment block on South 60th Street, when two people – a 16-year-old boy and a 21-year-old man – were shot multiple times.

Officials said both victims were taken to a nearby hospital, where the boy – who police have not yet released further identification information – was pronounced dead at around 11:14 a.m.

The elderly victim’s condition is critical, police officials said.

Police officials have stated that no arrests have been made and no weapons have been seized in connection with the incident, but that investigations are still ongoing.

According to statistics from the city’s police comptroller’s office, as of June 6, at least 56 of the city’s 452 shootings – both fatal and non-fatal – this year involved children.
