Shooting in Rich County that left woman dead classified as ‘accident’

RANDOLPH, Utah (ABC4) — Details are few, but officials with the Rich County Sheriff’s Office have confirmed that the gunfire death of a 75-year-old woman in her Randolph home Friday was “accidental.”

The woman, whose name was withheld pending notification of her family, was shot around 4:30 p.m. Friday afternoon. Authorities have not released any information about who shot her or who was with her at the time, but they noted: a Facebook post that medical staff were unable to resuscitate her.

No further information has been released.
