City centre park cordoned off after woman raped

Part of a city centre park was cordoned off after a woman was raped in the early hours of the morning.

Police said the woman, in her 40s, was attacked at around 5am (CET) in East Park, Southampton.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Police said officers remain in the north of the park, off East Park Terrace, conducting investigations.

Police said the woman was being assisted by specially trained officers.
