Missing woman found dead in Lee’s Summit, Missouri: KCPD

KANSAS CITY, Missouri – A woman reported missing in Jackson County last month has been found dead, Kansas City police said.

According to KCPD, 23-year-old Alyssa McMurry was found dead in Lee’s Summit, Missouri on May 17 after her family filed a missing person report four days earlier.

After she was found, investigators waited for the medical examiner to confirm her identity. Police then notified the public on Tuesday afternoon.

According to the initial missing person report, McMurry was last seen at 8 a.m. on May 13 in the 4100 block of Tracy Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri.

According to KCPD, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department is leading the death investigation. The cause of death has not yet been released.
