CJ Stroud of the Houston Texans currently ranks among the top 3 quarterbacks in the NFL

HOUSTON (KIAH) – CJ Stroud of the Houston Texans made a huge impact in his rookie season by being added to the top tier of NFL quarterbacks. But is Stroud currently a top three, let alone top five, quarterbacks in the league?

Stroud, along with teammate Tank Dell, appeared on a podcast called “Million Dollaz Worth of Game,” hosted by Philadelphia-based rapper Gillie Da King and social media influencer Wallo, and profiled his top five quarterbacks of the NFL, based on the 2023 season.

He placed Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs first, regular season MVP Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens second, and then Stroud placed third.

But putting yourself in third place isn’t just where the controversy starts. Stroud placed Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott fourth, despite a shaky 2023 season and another disappointing playoff performance.

“Dak that boy,” Stroud said.

Stroud then placed Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts fifth, although Dell stepped in and said Joey Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals should be fifth. “But he didn’t play last year, bro,” Stroud said.

Stroud, who was named the NFL’s Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2023, had high praise for Burrow despite leaving him out of his top five.

“Burrow (is) one of my favorite players,” he said. “I modeled my game after Burrow.”

He also showed some love for Matthew Stafford of the Los Angeles Rams, saying he was a fan of his. “He’s a guy, he can beat you with the same stuff,” Stroud said.

“If you had given Matthew Stafford the same chances as Aaron Rodgers, he would have had more rings,” he continued. “I would say he would have three or four. He’s tough as nails.

But Stroud’s top five left out many of the league’s top quarterbacks, including Buffalo’s Josh Allen, Arizona’s Kyler Murray, the New York Jets’ Aaron Rodgers and the Los Angeles Chargers’ Justin Herbert. – although all but Allen suffered injuries that caused them to miss significant time last season. Rodgers missed almost the entire season with an Achilles injury.
