Chiefs’ rumored strategy for WR Xavier Worthy revealed despite injury

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Kansas City Chiefs are not concerned that rookie wide receiver Xavier Worthy was unable to participate in recent offseason workouts due to hamstring issues.

Fowler reported on Sunday about sport Center The reigning Super Bowl winners have noticed that he learns very quickly.

“He’s trying to learn that playbook to be ready to play on Day 1,” Fowler said. “He knows they’re going to make him move because of his speed, make him switch inside and outside, so he wants to mentally soak that all up behind the scenes.”

Worthy had only started Kansas City’s offseason workouts two days before he suffered a minor hamstring injury, which forced him to watch most of the OTAs from the sidelines.

Even before practice sessions had really begun, the former Texas star was making a strong impression on the coaching staff. Fowler reported on May 12 that he was “soaking up the playbook.”

It’s hard to say exactly how the Chiefs will use Worthy once the season starts. He didn’t put up big numbers in college (197 passes caught for 2,755 yards and 26 touchdowns in three seasons), but it’s easy to imagine the impact his record-breaking speed could have on the passing game.

Fantasy football managers who got burned with Skyy Moore or, to a lesser extent, Rashee Rice might want to be a little cautious about putting too much faith in another Chiefs draft pick. First-year pass catchers are also generally a bit of a mixed bag.

But everything coming out of Kansas City strikes an encouraging tone for Worthy.
