Southern California man arrested on suspicion of numerous sex crimes against children

A Southern California man has been arrested on suspicion of numerous sex crimes against children.

The suspect was identified as 26-year-old Damien Gieng, according to Chino Hills police.

On May 21, police began investigating reports of “inappropriate sexual incidents” between a 16-year-old girl and Gieng.

Investigators found that the girl had met and communicated with Gieng through social media. He also allegedly knew that the girl was a minor, police said.

Undercover detectives posed as an underage girl and contacted the suspect through social media, eventually arranging to meet at The Shoppes at Chino Hills, a popular outdoor shopping center.

When Gieng arrived at the meeting point, he was arrested at the scene. Investigators later identified a second juvenile victim who was also questioned by detectives.
