Port Angeles woman killed in accident on US-101MyClallamCounty.com

PORT ANGELES – A Port Angeles woman died in a car crash on Highway 101 near Carlsborg.

According to a Washington State Patrol press release, the incident occurred just before 11 a.m. Friday as 61-year-old Julie M. Moen was driving her gray 1990 Jeep Wrangler eastbound on U.S. 101 near Boyce Road. While driving in the second of two lanes, Moen lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer off the right side of the roadway and come to a stop in a ditch.

Moen, who was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, was taken to Olympic Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

Authorities have confirmed that no charges have been filed in connection with the incident.

The Washington State Patrol is still investigating the cause of the accident, which is believed to be the vehicle’s wheels leaving the road.
