Wide receiver news, coaching additions | Daily infusion

It’s late May and we’re still more than three months away from the start of the regular season, but there’s a lot going on in TexansLand.

The team will be on the practice field this morning for Organized Team Activities (OTAs), and good news will emerge as they go through the drills.

Yesterday, catcher John Metchie, III picked up some equipment. He won the Halas Award, given to the NFL player who overcame the most adversity to achieve success. Metchie battled through a torn ACL and acute promyelocytic leukemia, and was on the field last season catching passes for the AFC South champions. He is the second Texan to win this title, joining offensive lineman David Quessenberry, who did so in 2017.
