Jefferson man arrested over weekend on suspicion of assault | Raccoon Valley Radio

A Jefferson man was arrested following an alleged assault.

According to court documents, a Jefferson Police officer responded to a call about a home invasion at the 400 block of East Perry Street at 4:40 a.m. on Saturday, May 18. The victim told the officer that the suspect, 46-year-old Dale Ganoe, came to the victim’s home, forced his way into her bedroom and struck her in the head. Another witness attempted to stop Ganoe, claiming Ganoe threatened to kill the witness, at which point the witness grabbed a baseball bat and struck Ganoe in the head because he was scared.

Ganoe had already left the scene before the officer reached the house. Court documents show that the officer and a Greene County Sheriff’s deputy eventually took Ganoe from another resident’s home, where Ganoe continually changed his story during questioning and refused medical attention for his head wound.

Court documents show the officer arrested Ganoe and charged him with a Class D felony for his third or subsequent offense of domestic violence and transported him to Greene County Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.
