Prime Minister attacks opposition with ‘mujra’ jibe, Congress demands ‘decency’ | News from India

PATNA: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday attacked the Congress and the RJD for corruption and “politics of Muslim appeasement” and said, “If the INDI Alliance wants to perform mujra to win votes, I have little problem. I will continue to fight for quota of OBCs, SCs and STs.”

Modi also said the countdown to the jail sentences of RJD leader Lalu Prasad and his son Tejashwi Prasad Yadav after the Lok Sabha elections has begun.

The Prime Minister mentioned the Calcutta High Court’s order cancelling all OBC certificates issued by the West Bengal government since 2010, which granted reservation to 75 Muslim communities in the OBC category.

Addressing three consecutive rallies in the Lok Sabha constituencies of Patliputra, Karakat and Buxar, where elections are due on June 1, the Prime Minister accused the INDI alliance of being “communalist, caste-oriented and dynastic” and said they were doing everything possible to manipulate the Constitution and allocate seats meant for OBCs/SCs/STs and EBCs to Muslims as part of their appeasement policy.

In an indirect reference to Tejashwi and the land-for-jobs scheme scam, Modi said, “All over Bihar, people living there will not wait much longer to go to jail and the countdown is on. They will not be spared… that is the guarantee of the NDA government and Modi.”

Without mentioning Tejashwi by name, who has taken part in more than 200 campaign rallies by helicopter, Modi said: “Jaise hin helicopter mein chakkar lagane ka samay pura hua, jail ka rasta tai ho jayega (Once the time for helicopter rides ends, the road to jail will open).”

He warned first-time voters that the “jungle raj” would return to Bihar if they voted for the opposition alliance.
