Prichard murder suspect arrested in Atlanta after chase, crash

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – A Prichard man wanted for murder is behind bars just outside Atlanta – after allegedly leading police on a chase that ended in a crash.

According to Cobb County Police, they attempted to stop this white Mercedes Benz GLC coupe SUV, which is believed to be linked to a murder in Prichard.

Officers say the diver allegedly fled when he saw police – running a red light – launching an all-out chase on I-75 – in downtown west Atlanta. Police managed to perform what is called a “pit maneuver” – which caused the vehicle to crash into that utility pole.

Police said everyone in the SUV tried to flee — our sister station WANF reporting that all were captured — including the driver, 20-year-old LaDerick Davis, Junior. Davis was arrested on an outstanding homicide warrant in Prichard. We’re told they also found two firearms inside the vehicle.

The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office issued murder arrest warrants on Friday, May 17, for Davis known on the streets as “ESPN 2” and another suspect – Robert McMillian – aka “Luh Mista.”

The murder occurred April 27, at 901 Telegraph Road in Prichard. Police discover a Ford Edge with Donte Evans dead inside from multiple gunshot wounds. MCSO then adopted the case from Prichard police. Investigators say three other people were inside the SUV, one of whom was shot in the abdomen.

Once extradited to Mobile, Davis will initially be charged with murder and assault. In the meantime, if you know where Robert McMillian is, call the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office.

The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office said one of the things that really broke this case open was the surveillance video – which identified Davis and McMillian as their suspects.
