Maryland man charged in PA court for alleged sexual exploitation of minors

(WJET/WFXP) – A Maryland man has been indicted by a federal grand jury in Pittsburgh on charges related to the sexual exploitation of a minor.

United States District Attorney Eric G. Olshan announced Wednesday, May 1, that Annapolis resident George Luton, 49, faces nine counts.

According to the indictment, Luton is said to have attempted several times in March 2024 to persuade, entice, lure and force a minor to engage in sexually explicit behavior in order to produce “visual representations”.

The indictment also states that on April 6, Luton traveled across multiple state lines to engage in illicit sexual conduct with another person.

If found guilty, Luton faces up to 30 years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000, or both.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Kiskiminetas Township Police Department and the Southern Armstrong Regional Police Department led the investigation that led to Luton’s indictment.
