Former Lancaster City Police Officer Charged with Rape and Assault on Minor; alleged crimes occurred in the late 1990s | Local News

Lancaster police announced Friday that former officer Andrew Selby has been charged with multiple counts of sexual assault and rape against two victims and attempted rape against a third victim. Each of the victims was a minor at the time of the crime.

Police also announced rape charges against Roberto Rosario, who allegedly assaulted one of the minors who was later allegedly attacked by Selby.

Rosario, 44, is charged with a December 1997 rape. Selby allegedly raped the same woman in the following days while investigating her case. Selby, 54, joined the Lancaster Police Department in May 1994 and left in 2000.

Police say Selby is currently in custody awaiting arraignment. Rosario was arraigned Thursday evening.
