Bellingham teen killed in Northborough shooting

NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. (WLNE) – Worcester District Attorney Joseph Early, Jr. said a 16-year-old from Bellingham was shot and killed in Northborough early on the morning of May 12th.

Early said a pedestrian flagged down an officer around 1 a.m. and told him a gun had been displayed at a home on Howard Street.

Officers from multiple counties, including Westborough, Shewsbury, Southborough, Boylston, Marlborough, Berlin and state police responded to the home when they heard gunshots and entered the property.

Early said the scene was “chaotic,” with hundreds of people on the property and several people suffering injuries, including two gunshot wounds.

Two officers carried the 16-year-old victim to an ambulance that took them to UMass Memorial Medical Center, where they were pronounced dead.

The other gunshot victim, a 17-year-old, was treated at Marlborough Hospital and released with minor injuries along with two others.

Three people were arrested at the scene on firearms-related charges.

Early said neither the victim nor the suspects were from Northborough and the Bellingham school principal had been notified of the teen’s death.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call 508-393-1515.
